Wow, it’s already the end of March! This year is moving so fast that I can hardly keep up. I’m so excited about spring. This is my favorite season. It’s not too hot or too cold and there is no need to wear a jacket. I dislike wearing jackets. Anyway, with spring comes a lot of fun holidays and activities. The main one being spring break. I’m not in school anymore so I don’t get an official spring break, but I do take a few days off from work to pretend that I do. During this time, one of my favorite activities is reading remarkable books.

Remarkable Books

I love to read and I’m sure a lot of you all do as well. It seems like life gets hectic towards the beginning of the year and there is not much time to read. When spring rolls around, things slow down at work and there is more time to do things after 5:00. I want to use this time to get back into reading.

Sitting outside reading a good book is a great way to relax during the spring season. I love to read from a variety of genres as long as the book interests me. My goal is to read four books this season. Spring lasts from March 21st to June 21st so that equals one book per month. It would be really cool if each of you would join me in reading more books this spring. I will highlight a few remarkable books worth reading this season and I encourage you to leave suggestions as well.

This is Where it Ends By Marieke Nijkamp

Remarkable Books

First, we have This Is Where It Ends. This is the book that I’m currently reading and it is awesome! I love how the storyline seems so familiar because it is about a school shooting. The book is written from the perspective of four different students during a timespan of 54 minutes. Each perspective paints a different picture of the shooter and the moments that led up to this horrible act. The ultimate goal for everyone in the school is survival. A lot can happen in 54 minutes. This Is Where It Ends will keep you turning the pages. I can’t wait to see what happens in the end.

Look Again By Lisa Scottoline

Remarkable Books

The next book is Look Again. This is an older book, but it immediately caught my attention. This book is about a reporter receiving a flyer in the mail with a picture of a missing child. The child looks exactly like her adopted son. The reporter knows that her son’s adoption was legal, but can’t stop thinking that there is a possibility that her son could be the child from the flyer. While risking her own life, the reporter begins to investigate the case of the missing child to find out if it is connected to her adopted son in any way. If you love thrillers the way that I do, I think this will be the perfect book to read this spring.

Difficult Women By Roxane Gay

Remarkable Books

The third book is Difficult Women. Books like Difficult Women don’t usually draw me in however, this book seems to be so inspiring. It is a collection of stories about women in different walks of life. Although the book is fiction, there is something to learn from each story. One story is about sisters that were abducted as children. Another mentions a stripper putting herself through school. This book has been called phenomenally powerful and beautifully written. I can’t wait to read this one.

Small Great Things By Jodi Picoult

Remarkable Books

Book four is Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult. I have been a Jodi Picoult fan since the day I finished The Pact. Her writing style is brilliant and keeps me engaged. Small Great Things is about very controversial topics. These topics include race, prejudice, justice, privilege, compassion and everything in between. An African American nurse is asked not to touch the child of white supremacist parents. The child goes into cardiac distress while the African American nurse is in the nursery alone. She has to choose whether to intervene and help the child or obey the parent’s wishes. Her choice leads to a lawsuit and the story dissects the court case. This seems to be one of the most remarkable books and a great read for everyone.

The Choice By Nicholas Sparks

Remarkable Books

As a bonus, I must mention The Choice. If you’re into romance novels, this is the book for you. This book will make you question how far you would go to keep love alive. It starts off with Travis who has it all and feels no need to be in a relationship. That is until a beautiful woman moves next door. The woman seems to have it out for him. She also happens to be engaged.  Travis can’t stop thinking about her and they grow closer to each other and eventually fall in love. The story takes you through their initial encounter, the beginning of a fresh relationship, a marriage, children, and eventually the choice that Travis will have to make. The story is said to make you laugh and cry and it will hold your attention until the very end.

Remarkable Books

These are all remarkable books and they are guaranteed to keep your attention. I am so excited about reading these books and finding out how each of them ends. If I don’t finish them all during the spring season, I will definitely finish them over the summer. What remarkable books are you planning to read this spring? Let me know in the comments!
